Govinda's Vegetarian Cuisine

Onion, garlic, and egg are already out of the way this kitchen works.

Check the lunch and dinner windows before you go.
This is the kitchen on the list that already cooks the way the diet asks. Govinda's sits beside the ISKCON Houston temple and does not use onion, garlic, or mushrooms. Eggs are not part of the cooking.
Service is a buffet: lunch about 11 to 2:30, dinner about 5 to 9, every day. Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday the buffet is vegan. Other days, dairy shows up in paneer and sweets, which is fine for this diet and not fine if you are skipping milk. The restaurant has pointed people to the door rather than to delivery apps. Call (832) 831-9951 if the hours on the window have moved.
How to order
- You do not have to negotiate the plate. Still glance at a new tray if something looks like a one-off special.
- Ekadasi days sometimes drop grains and beans. Ask if you are fasting, or if you are not and the buffet looks thin.
- A temple tour is there if you want it. The meal does not require one.
No egg, no onion, and no garlic. That includes the sauce, the tadka, the dough, the oil, and the powder.
